Hot Sauce label: new design

My original labels, printed on brown craft paper.

And the potential new label design.

What do you think? Do you like the direction the new labels are going? Or should I stick to the kraft paper look. I can add blood spatters and/or mold to either version now because I'm doing these in Photoshop.

Kinda like the contrast of the new labels!

Thanks Spookworks! I've always envisioned my bottles being like old vintage apothecary bottles or old embalming fluid bottles.

Maybe these labels will get me closer to that look.

Now if I could only find square apothecary style bottles to use. Hmmmm.

i like the patina - gives it an interesting edge.

Speaking as an amatuer graphic designer, I like the second one better. I'd avoid too many or too big blood splatters, or risk the image becoming too "busy". But overall, wonderful new job!

The new version gets my vote. The contrast makes the art pop more as well as making the type more legible. A nice tattered die cut after printing would complete the aged and decaying look. Well done!

Hi HalloweeNut,

Thanks! I do tend to get carried away with the blood and mold sometimes.

Hello House Bloodthorn! I hadn't thought about a die cut. And since there are 7 or so labels and I could use the same die for each of them, it would be very cost effective too! Hmmmm. Thank you!

Oh, that label looks pretty cool. The new one looks better -- the subtle differences in the design give it a more horror-movie feel.
